So you’ve been in Denmark for a few days and you’re sick of smørrebrød, licorice, hot dogs and imported Italian food. You might have had a long day or drank too much last night. Or even tonight. You just want some comfort food that you’re used to. Don’t fear, we’ve got your back. Here’s where to find your favourite fast food restaurants in Copenhagen:
There are 3 Macdonald’s in central Copenhagen, all open 24hrs at weekends. They have English speaking staff and the cheapest take out in the city. You’ll find them at Central Station, Nørreport and Kongens Nytorv (by Nyhavn). Click links for Google Maps.
So you’re on holiday and you want a bit more burger than McDonald’s can give you? There are two Burger Kings in the very heart of Copehagen. One faces onto City Hall Square (Danish: Rådhuspladsen, open 24hrs) and the other is outside the gates to Tivoli, on Vesterbrogade. Click links for Google Maps.
It may be the case that you’ve already had a couple of burgers this trip, so you’re after some of the Colonel’s own recipe chicken. KFC in central Copenhagen is next door to Burger King just off Rådhuspladsen, the City Hall Square. Click link for Google Map, and be aware that it shuts at 1am on weekdays.
Max Hamburger is Sweden’s favourite fast food chain, and is one of the newest fast food restaurants in Copenahgen. We really recommend trying it while you’re here. They have slightly different burgers and fries with a few novel sides too. You’ll find Max on Gammeltorv (Old Square) – click link for Google Map. It’s a short distance down Strøget, Copenhagen’s pedestrian shopping street.
Don’t fancy a burger or fried chicken? No fear, there’s a Domino’s in central Copenhagen too. The most central Domino’s is at Kongens Nytorv (click link for Google Map), next to Nyhavn.
